ATHENA AWARD NOMINATION

HONORING WOMEN LEADERS IN THE COMMUNITY


The ATHENA Award actively supports and celebrates the ATHENA mission of supporting, developing and honoring women leaders, inspiring women to achieve their full potential – creating balance in leadership worldwide. The ATHENA Award honors individuals who strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, who excel in their chosen field, devote time and energy to their community in a meaningful way, and forge paths of leadership for other women to follow.



THE CRITERIA

ATHENA recipients must meet each of the following three criteria.

They must:

 

- Assist women in reaching their full leadership potential;

 

- Demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession;

 

- Provide valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in their community.



COMPLETING THE FORM


- Nominations for the ATHENA Award must be submitted using this nomination form.


- Two additional pages of supporting documents may be included (i.e. resume, cv, etc.). “Scrapbooks” or other separate supporting documents should not accompany the form. These materials will not be considered during the selection committee deliberations. (Supporting documents can be emailed to kgeweke@geweke.com or ngeweke@geweke.com. Please include the nominees name so that we can easily match the application with supporting documentation)

 

- The information submitted should support the award criteria of achievement, leadership and service.



THE PROCESS

- A Selection Committee consisting of a diverse group of leaders from your community will review all nomination forms and select the ATHENA Award Recipient.

 

- The ATHENA Award recipient will be announced March 2nd, 2024 at  A Day for Women Event (tickets and sponsorship info coming)

Community Service *


Provide valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in their community as evidenced by: A leadership role or service to an organization outside the bounds of her normal professional responsibilities; Providing a direct contribution to the revenue or financial condition of the organization; Providing a direct contribution to the quality of services provided that have made a difference to the organization and/or community; Providing a direct contribution to programs, policies, or initiatives that positively impact the status of a community issue/initiative.


Personal Leadership *


Provide specific examples of how the applicant has assisted women in reaching their full leadership potential, and/or demonstrated support for their professional advancement as evidenced by: Mentoring/coaching other women; Influencing and/or providing/encouraging career development/advancement of women staff; Volunteering with women’s organizations whose mission is or is related to the advancement of women.
